Lyrics:

I just want to listen to the silence.
It does not push or shove,
it is calm and still, the silence.

Don’t ruin it with small words with no direction or intention,
for now I walk away with a shiver down my spine,
and a a fake smile on my face. I stick out my thumb, and away I go,
to a different place.

You leave me stuck in my head,
when there is no one to distract me,
when there is nothing to discover,
when there is to many familiarities.

So I walk and run and ride my way,
to find a mouth that will exchange my words for theirs,
to a new place that is a virgin to my eyes,
to a comforting difference.

Today, these things lie on the seat of a vessel,
in the golden eyes of a friend.
In the warmth of the sun on grey concrete.
In the dampness of my face where the tears roll, and fall.

The white keys are stained,
with residue of my former face,
that I wore this afternoon,
and cried away this evening.
