Karim So draws upon a rich and diverse musical background to craft his sound, which in turn is eclectic. Born and raised in Los Angeles, the violin was his first instrument, and classical music his first love…. relocating to NorCal in his teen years, the SF Bay Area ignited a passion in him for electronic music that has yet to waiver. Intimate with many forms of dance, Karim has the rhythm of nature, and the melody of the earth woven deeply into the fabric of his being….. but is no stranger to the raw or heavy… inspired and infused by the grittiness of old Downtown LA, the flow of the Bay Area, Black Rock City, and a few swings around the world….. Blending dubstep, breakbeat, IDM, and anything else that sounds good, Karim keeps the cuts fresh. Equally in his element, either pushing warm sunrise vibrations or crunking the dance floor, he prides himself on tapping into and becoming intimate with the energy of the people and space that he is playing to.
