Grounded TV exclusive: Vancouver Island-born singer/songwriter Georgia Murray has learned that her 2009 song “We’ll Never Know” was stolen by Lee Hyori, South Korea’s number one pop sensation. Murray’s song was plagiarized entirely (with the only exception of the lyrics and an added rap) and released as “Swing” on Hyori’s April 2010 album, H-Logic and has reached #1 in several Asian markets.

Hyori Lee released a statement on her fan site confirming the allegations are true, but said that she had no idea Bahnus, the producer/songwriter who she received the songs from, had stolen them from other artists.

Murray’s song, as well as six other plagiarized songs, have been removed from H-Logic by Hyori’s label, MNet. Other artists like Melanie Durrant and Jason Derulo were also victimized.

Murray was featured on Boston Legal in 2006, has opened for some of North America’s top music artists and performed the national anthems at GM Place and Madison Square Gardens. She is currently working on new material with producer D Whiz in Victoria
