Olympic Protestors take over Commercial Drive this morning! 12.February.2010

Axiom here, I’m just on the drive with Syd and our friends Nick Middleton and Dunks covering the Olympic protests surrounding the Olympic Torch. Things got a little haywire there for a minute when cops and protesters alike ran down Gravely Street towards downtown. From what we gathered, a protester had become verbally aggressive with the torch barer who burst into tears and was escorted away in a police convoy. This followed several earlier diversions, including a successful barb-wire barracade at Commcercial and Venables resulting in the re-direction of the torch down to Clark. Cops looks very stoic as they loom over a mixed crowd of pro and anti-Olympic citizens. Stay posted for more from the front lines.

We hope to see everyone in full force and with every camera you can get your hands on at 3PM at the Vancouver Art Gallery today February 12th, the day of the Olympic Opening Ceremonies.
